Yes, yes, yes! I’ve noticed this trend more and more, and it drives me nuts (especially now that I’m a freelance consultant). As someone who has worked in the trenches of marketing, building and executing content strategies both agency-side and in-house for more than a decade, it really grinds my gears to see someone with an Instagram audience and no professional, real-world experience claim the same title I do. Because, more often than not, they lack the knowledge and skill to drive real results for brands — and they also give clients unrealistic expectations around cost.
